First time buying a car in Dubai and I'm completely lost (6 อ่าน)

I just moved here from Canada a few months ago for work and I’m finally ready to get my own car instead of relying on taxis and borrowing my colleague’s spare. Honestly the whole market here is overwhelming compared to back home, especially with all the talk about GCC specs versus American imports and the different areas to shop around. I’ve been doing my research and I think I’ve settled on something sensible like a Mazda CX-5 or maybe a Honda CR-V, something reliable that won’t give me headaches. The thing is I don’t really know anyone here who’s into cars so I’m going into this blind and I’m worried about getting taken advantage of just because I’m new and clearly don’t know the ropes yet. I’ve been reading through old threads here and a few people mentioned getting an inspection done before buying which makes total sense to me. I stumbled across something called prepurchasecarinspection.ae and it looks like they cater to people like me who don’t have a mechanic friend to tag along. I guess my main question is, do I schedule that before I even make an offer or only after I’ve agreed on a price? And what’s the usual process with private sellers here when you ask to have someone inspect the car? Any tips would be really appreciated because I’m pretty nervous about messing this up.
