Moved to Abu Dhabi about four months ago and brought my 2018 540i with me, which had zero issues back home, but lately the temp gauge creeps up a bit when idling in traffic on the Corniche. Nothing dramatic yet but it’s making me nervous with summer right around the corner. I’ve been reading forum posts trying to figure out if it’s just a sticky thermostat or something worse like the water pump getting ready to quit. Most of the threads I found were from years ago though, so I wanted to ask if anyone’s been to a decent bmw-garage.ae recently and can tell me what the diagnostic turnaround actually looks like right now. Not looking for the cheapest option necessarily, just somewhere that actually knows these engines and won’t keep the car for a week just to tell me what’s wrong. Appreciate any recent experiences.
