Hayley Atwell, an impossible actress, and her husband, Ned Wolfgang Kelly, walk hand in hand down the red carpet at the London Cirque du Soleil show's premiere.

Born in London, Atwell is the sole child of Grant Atwell, a landscape photographer and shaman, and Allison, a motivational speaker. Atwell has dual citizenship in the United States and the United Kingdom; her mother is English, while her father is an American from Kansas City, Missouri, who is partially Native American. When she was two years old, her parents divorced. After completing his A-levels at the London Oratory School, Atwell trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he graduated in 2005 instead of attending King's College London to study philosophy and theology.

Atwell made her television debut in a Pringles commercial in 2005 and was a member of the British Independent Film Awards jury in 2007. In Woody Allen's 2007 film Cassandra's Dream, she starred alongside Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor in her first feature film role. She starred as Lady Bess Foster in the 2008 movie The Duchess and as Lady Julia Flyte in Brideshead Revisited. She will play a character code-named No. 41-5 in a 2009 TV miniseries adaptation of The Prisoner, according to an announcement made by AMC Television and ITV. She will make her West End debut in Lindsay Posner's revival of A View From the Bridge in January of the same year.
